Elain Lloyd

Elain is Welsh and trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has been working in Welsh language TV since the age of 9 in many different genres from soaps to cartoon voice overs.

Her theatre Credits include: NURSES at the Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru directed by Sarah Lloyd; CHWALFA at the Welsh National Theatre directed by Arwel Gruffydd; SPRING AWAKENING at the Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru directed by Ellen Bowman; PINS AND NEEDLES at The Cock Tavern directed by Rachel Grunwald; FAME, National tour, directed by Mykal Rand.

TV credits include playing the new regular character of Mel in Wales longest running soap Rownd a Rownd on S4C for Rondo Media; the comedy drama STELLA written by and starring Ruth Jones; SC4 Courtroom Drama NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH and a guest lead in the hugely popular GRANDPA IN MY POCKET with James Bolam.

Film credits include: the comedy caper GOLDEN YEARS starring Bernard Hill and Virginia McKenna.

As an experienced voiceover artist her voice can regularly be heard on S4C in NODDY, FI-FI and the FLOWERTOTS, and all the female trains in THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE. She is the voice of Wiggy in the cartoon THE HA HA HAIRIES which was nominated for a BAFTA in 2013. She is also the hugely popular and much loved character DONA DIREIDI with her own TV series and two feature films.

Also a professional singer, Elain has won many musical theatre singing competitions and in 2004 was crowned North Wales Young Musical Singer of the Year.

Elain speaks fluent Welsh and is based in Cardiff with a base in London.
