Talented young actress Doyin Ajiboye is a member of Company Three (previously Islington Community Theatre) and has performed in many of their shows, most recently the hugely successful BRAINSTORM which played at the Park Theatre, National Theatre and The Royal Albert Hall. It was also broadcast on BBC iPlayer, directed by Ned Glasier and Emily Lim and devised by the company. Other productions with Company Three include MISSISSIPPI, THESE WALLS and MACBETH – Shakespeare School Festival at the Pleasance Theatre. Doyin recently performed A STATE OF EMERGENCY at The New Diorama Theatre.
Doyin was also a grand finalist in the Speak Out Challenge (the world’s biggest youth speaking event) in 2014, which was held at The Piccadilly Theatre. You can see the film of her speech ‘TOTTENHAM MATERIAL’, which she wrote and performed, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gm1ZH1VBqdc
Doyin is a strong improviser, collaborator and excels in devised theatre. She is also a strong singer, and was singled out for praise by The Guardian in a review of BRAINSTORM: “Towards the end… one of the teenage participants sits on the edge of the stage and sings a haunting unaccompanied version of ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone’. Like so much in this exhilarating piece exploring the developing adolescent brain… it’s a multilayered moment.”
Other reviews for BRAINSTORM: “Outstanding” – The Times; “Remarkable” – The Guardian; “Beautifully conceived” – The Observer.
Doyin is based in London.
